I have a car and the metalic effect on my car uses cube textures to render some nice reflections. i want to render-to-texture around views of car into my textures and create a cube map texture with them. rendering to texture is easy for me now, say i rendered 6 textures of views around the car, how can i create a cube texture with them? can anyone show me codes of creating cube texture with given 6 textures? in c# and MDX please. or should i use textures inside the HLSL codes? by the way do you know some nice volumetric cloud, volumetric lighting or volumetric fog HLSL shaders or examples? thanks.

Have you looked into using the RenderToEnvironmentMap helper class? Should do the trick, otherwise handling it manually and accessing the appropriate RT's via CubeTexture.GetCubeMapSurface() should be sufficient.
