Sorry if this is the wrong forum - think DirectShow is DirectX (even though it's with the Platform SDK these days). I'm enumerating direct show capture devices. I have one webcam plugged in and my enumeration results in 2 device monikers. These are: @device:pnp:\\?\usb#vid_041e&pid_401d#6&71691ff&0&3#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global and @device:cm:{860BB310-5D01-11D0-BD3B-00A0C911CE86}\Creative WebCam NX Ultra (VFW) Now I would like to know what the first device is (pnp?), what the monikers actually mean and how I can parse them to get display names for a list box. Can I assume for example that the display name is always the rightmost string after the \ delimeter? Thanks.
