Hi all, I wanted to let you know of the hacking game I made. It is a terminal based game where you try to steal a file from a remote system using unix shell commands. It's fairly realistic in the sense that it simulates Unix and simplified ip networks. Because it is a rather hard-core game using real unix commands, I've added a "Getting started" and walkthrough documents. The getting started document is very usefull if you are not yet experienced with these kind of games. The game requires java 1.5+ and comes as a windows installer. It uses swt for graphics so it is not compatible with linux or mac right now. It is a first release to show the potential of the engine, and to get feedback on where to go from here. It is not a finished article and does contains some bugs. If you are interested, please give it a try and let me know what you think. All feedback is appreciated.
