Hi, att. The standard solutions will be those daunting siggraph papers such as Jensen's. We're to render a demo of forest with grass and flowers, we want give a feature of the flowers such like http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/?id=3104502&refnum=649110&Lang=en We seek for some methods that's more realistic than naive alpha blending, but simpler than integration/PRT. Is there any? Thanks!

I would say use some sort of anisotropic shader. Flower petals (at least some that I have seen) seem to have a smooth, velvet-like surface. Combine that with a bit of specular highlights and some HDR lighting, and it could look ok.
