Does anyone know how I can redirect my printf or cout calls so they will print text into my Visual Studio output window? I have a C++ Windows based project, no console, no MFC stuff going on if that makes any difference... Thanks in advance :-) I see a million tutorials on the internet on how to redirect it to a file, but a file isn't what I want, I'm looking for the Output window to work :-(

Well, not that it helps you redirect an existing text output, but the most common method used to write to the output window is the OutputDebugString function:

Good luck.

I dont know how to redirect the printf or cout calls to the VS output window but a call to OutputDebugStr("Text to display") will do it.
