Hello all, I need to put some sound effect to my first simple DirectX game written in C++. I am wondering which framework to use, something with lots of documentation and examples I can learn from. I see many books explaing DirectMusic but I heard it is being deprecated. Thanks.

I suggest you to start with OpenAL. It's very easy to learn, and very powerful to use. And, last but not least, it is cross-platform ;)

If you are only making free software, FMOD is also very good. The licensing is a little pricey for anyone trying to sell small commercial games.
