me and my friend made a team and are working on the mmofpsrpg that everyone says is a myth. well we may just be the first people to make a mmofpsrpg. we are proving that it is not a myth. we are making the team bigger so we can get it done easier and faster. we still have 18 spots left. if you want to join the team and possibly go down in history then email me at allstarozzy99@yahoo.com

wrong forum and Planetside already beat you by a few years. 300 players fighting at a time. Unless you mean an indie one in which case other people are working on them.

Dude, I don't mean to flame you, and do't take this the wrong way... but this is about the funniest thing I've ever seen on a forum.

First off, the simple NAME of the project almost made me crap my pants...

"""M.M.O.F.P.S.R.P.G.""".

That's 3!, count em 3 unbelivably hard projects in one super weed blunt of a game. I don't think you realize how much effort even goes into a simple 2D RPG game. Elevted from that, first person shooters have been dramaticaly been raised by their expectations in the past few years.

Now on to the good part MMO's cost litterally THOUSANDS of dollars every few months to keep your servers running decently, especially if they're sending massive ammounts of information like your are.

Get this, Valve, has about 300 servers running at their corperation, AND THEY STILL LAG LIKE CRAP!

Like I said, I'm am not trying to flame you, but if you even suggest this as an indie game producer, you need a serious wake-up call.

EDIT: 18 spots........ good luck with that

EverQuest is (or at least can be) played with a first person view. It's from '99, so you've been beaten by a bit. Other notable games you may want to look at before making similar claims include Planetside (MMOFPS) and World of Warcraft (MMORPG, supports a non-default first-person view), and I'm sure there are probably further examples out there. I'm afraid you've missed out on being the first to create such a game by a long shot.

Big teams are very difficult to manage and coordinate. AAA studios can get away with it because they have large budgets and can have people on staff purely to help manage and coordinate things and because the developers are experienced at working in a team environment. They also typically have all or most of thier developers in one location, which eases the difficulty of communication and team interaction. They also have top-of-the-line hardware and software to help out when they do need to work with anyone remotely. A hobbyist or indie team do not have those luxuries.

Apart from the above your idea is one that's extremely difficult to pull off even for professionals.

Lastly, you're in the wrong forum to advertise for help, you need Help Wanted, and since there's a compulsory posting template you must follow in that forum I'll let you repost there rather than moving this thread.
