Hello everyone! I would like some opinions or advice from anyone who has already entered the game industry. Nothing technical, I'm just wanting to know if I am following a good path to the road of professional game development. Any additional information is accepted. So here goes... I am a senior college student at a public four-year university studying computer science and marketing management. For the past year, I have aided the Computer Science and Mathematics department at my school to create Game Programming courses for the first time starting this fall semester. I have studied Data Structures, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and several business courses focused on accounting, economics, and marketing. This year, I will be studying Software Engineering, Game Programming and Design, Computer Architecture, and Artificial Intelligence. After graduation, I want to attend SMU at the Guildhall to study level design. I have designed small projects, some written game design outlines and drawings, created pong, pac-man, a 2d racing game, and a small two level 2d RPG. I am a intermediate level at C++ and Java. I understand .NET, Photoshop(won awards in high school for Best Artist and Best Creativity) , and Maya. I have a job working as a Assistant Manager and Marketing Coordinator for a movie entertainment company to gain experience in supervision, multi-tasking, and marketing. I devote a lot of my leisure time playing all genres of video games, read daily game industry news articles, read game development books, such as Theory of Fun for Game Design, Game Business, and Game Programming in C++. I am currently working on a Multiplayer only Modern FPS for the PC using Direct X 9. I hope to one day work for a studios as a level designer and eventually move up to Creative Director or even Producer. P.S. I do know that I need to create a resume for this stuff and some demos to show off. I plan on working on this soon. Thank you for any help you can give me. Thanks!

You might want to post this in a different forum. This forum is for business topics (which is why you're not getting responses). May I suggest:

and then click the "BREAKING INTO THE INDUSTRY" forum.
