Hey guys, I'm trying to write a small video player as an educational project, but what I want to know is if there is any way to set the computer monitor to not turn off even if the user doesn't use the mouse for a while through C++ or Java? Thanks in advance

Interesting question. I tried looking for it. Apparently this is called Display Power Management Signaling. There's a Java package for doing this with the X11 server, it seems, but other than that I can't find anything on the topic, not even the Windows API for it, although I'm sure there must be one. You might want to look into "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface" and "Advanced Power Management".

At the very least, it's apparently quite easy to get your program to open the Power Management control panel when prompted to do so, so if you can't find anything else, you might want to go with that.
