Properly skewing shadows
I'm doing a standard tile based game, what is the best way to do a shadow. I am drawing the shadow by simply drawing a black and transparent version of the sprite, but need to figure out how to do the actual skewing without major distortion.
I'm using C++ and OpenGL
Are your shadows always at the same position or are they placed according to the light source and the position of the object?
If they are always at the same place, the simplest way would be to create the shadow in Photoshop (or any other tool) and render them in a separate pass before the actual object.
