I was looking on Amazon for a good ASP.net 2.0 book. I quite like the Wrox Programmer 2 Programmer series so expected there to be one I could choose. But I got this list: and they mostly look quite good. When I narrowed the net, I got a bunch more books (Amazon's search is simply abyssmal): more! So who can help me? "professional" Vs "beginning" is one way of looking at it... leaving the more specialist AJAX/.net 3.0 aside there are still several books which seem to cover the exact same thing. Are they all very similar and a sneaky publishing trick? For what it's worth, any usage I do of ASP.net will probably developing controls/components to be slotted into web-pages, rather than making a web-page itself. I'll probably want to know about AJAX .net but I can probably look at 2 or 3 books - the one covering .net 3.0 and workflows is very likely to be one, but can I get away with one other or do I need one for asp.net and another for ajax?
