Alright, here is the latest song I have created: Misplaced Space: Link If you like it, tell me. If you don't like it, tell me why. My website has more music that I've made. Feel free to use my any of my songs if you want, but be sure to give me credit. If you like them, great. If not, then don't listen to them! EDIT: Within the next month, I should be able to buy the FULL version of the music software I use (Acid Pro), so I MIGHT be able to create some music for some projects if anyone wants. I've only been making songs for a few months, but if you are interested, email me.

Alfredo Freak- Overall I like this piece, but since you mentioned Acid Pro, does that mean all of this is just loops? Loops are great, but they do have some draw backs:

1) Your music can sound like someone else's if they have the same loops you do. Sure, you can use the loops in a different way, but people will be able to recognize the material as looped content.

I've noticed several bumpers (those short 3-5 second segments before or after commercials) that used very familiar loops from Acid. Some companies may frown on this if they want their audio content to very unique to their property. You'll find the higher up the ladder you go as a professional composer, the more a company wants your music to be completely unique. Odds are they're paying a decent amount of cash for custom music and the last thing they want is "this sounds just like this music over here!"

2) Also since it is loops, the piece can begin to sound much the same, too repetitive.

I don't use loops that often, but at times I'll pop in a good rhythmic loop if I feel its needed. The key to using a loop well is editing it, mixing it and using it in such a fashion that it hides the fact it is a loop. Try and arrange the loop with the rest of the piece in a very creative manner. Avoid just having the loops in the foreground, just repeating over and over. Most of the time, I try and write everything I do, so I have ultimate control and flexibility over my music.

Your piece isn't bad, but it gets a little long after a while. The MP3 player doesn't have a time counter on it, but I've been able to type several messages and check several emails while listening to your piece. The basic idea is nice, but it needs more variety in the types of instruments used and the actual melodic and harmonic lines themselves. This is especially true since the song is so long.

My advice: If you play any musical instruments and can read music, then I'd start combining your Acid creations with elements that you create yourself. This way you can avoid some of the inherent cons of using only loops and give your pieces more of your own personality.

I hope that helps,
