I've been making an online RTS game for the last couple months and it is mostly finished. I had a whole team of people who made all the graphics and music I needed...except for tilesets. The tilesets are what is holding this game back from glory so I've been looking around the internet for free tilesets and I found: http://www.tekepon.net/fsm/modules/refmap/index.php?mode=pack but it's in japanese, so I have no clue what the terms of use are. Can any of you read japanese? Or, it would be even better if someone could recommend to me a great tileset artist. I would even be willing to pay if he/she was of top quality. Thanks alot!

Hi,
You should post in the HELP WANTED forum, saying that you're looking for artists. I'm sure you will definetly find someone to help you.

Good point, I should have linked you before:

At the very top right hand corner of that website is an option to translate it all (most of it anyways) into English, including the terms of use. :)
Thanks! I translated it and found that it says:

"Unless any prior permission by the owner of any copyright has been given, any use other than personal one approved under law (copying, distribution, modification, public circulation, re-use, transmission, etc.) is prohibited."

So I tried to use their "Contact Us" sheet to ask for permission, but after I filled it out and pressed Send, I got a "Forbidden" error message.
I use these graphics for my RPG.

There is a license here. (Click "ENGLISH" at the upper-right corner of the screen.)

The following parts might be of interest to you:
Quote:Although our resources are for RPG Tkool 2000*1 [RPG Maker 2000], you can use them for a original programming game, for your website, for a movie, for a screen saver, etc.

[...]

Please write in your READ ME file like this:
"Some (All) of graphic data in this software are free game resources distributed by REFMAP(http://www.tekepon.net/fsm).
You must not use the graphic data which is in this software, for the purpose except playing this game. When you want to get these resources, go to the website above."

I'd rewrite the READ ME notice to make it sound less Engrish though.

Hope it helped.
thanks alot! I'll use those as my tile graphics.
I make custom tilesets, let me know if you're interested and what you're looking for.
