I have the following problem. I want to have a terrain the player walks about from a first person view. If the player looks down at the ground, I need enough texture resolution so that the ground looks detailed. So what I do is tile my terrain texture a lot to get this resolution. However, when the player looks up at far mountain ranges, this heavy tiling looks bad because now I get a lot of minification. You see the problem: Player looks down-->heavy magnification Player looks up at far mountains-->heavy minification How to find the right compromise/solution?
