generic polygon tesselation and display lists in directx

Need to do gluTessVertex() and glNewList() in direct3D9. Any suggestions on how to implement these features in D3D9? Tesselation will probably end up in some siggraph paper implementation but have no ideas about display lists in D3D9 so far. thanks, Murat
