Web-site Enhancements for Egerter Software

Just a quick question regarding the existing website for Egerter Software..... Are there any features or enhancements that would interest any of you? I have been considering the addition of a "dynamic" image gallery which accepts submissions and uploads from anyone, which would then go through a content approval by Chris and appear on the gallery page together with a comment or link. Chris has not approved of this yet, but I would like to know if there would be sufficient need for something like this....... Work is currently being done to improve the order form by creating an online form or possibly routing orders through one of the many secure payment sites available across the web. Any thoughts or suggestions? BarryE

Barry,

This is coming from someone that is not a registered user, but will be in the near future due to the recent betas that now support what I am doing. I look at the site everyday for changes and new shots in the gallery, and I also read the forum everyday.

I personally think that you should keep the picture gallery the way it is. Anyone can submit a picture to you guys through email for your approval into the gallery. Adding in a new system is not needed and may result in too many uninteresting shots. I would rather see 5 good screenshots than 500 that I have to sort through for an hour to find a good example of something.

A convenient and fast ordering/payment system is needed. I advise against it if will increase the cost of the product though. No other engine provides such high quality at such a low price.

I haven''t had any user submitted screenshots yet, so I don''t see any reason to make an automatic system. Just email them and if they are appropriate I''ll post them.

For orders, any opinions on paypal.com?

PayPal would rock.

Chris and Barry,

I completely agree with Chris on the screenshots. Paypal is an excellent system that would not increase any costs for any of the parties involoved.

ChrisE: If you can setup paypal then I will buy PR right now.

PayPal isn''t supporting Web Accept for international accounts until ''Summer 2001''. Until then we will continue to use the regular payment methods.

I might allow transfering to my Paypal account when it is set up. However you''ll still need to fill out and email the order form because I won''t have any web based forms.
