Hello, I (like dozens others) have noticed the huge number of new people posting on the Help Wanted forums. From what I remember in the past, this didn't happen a few years ago. Most people already belonged to the forums before they posted in the Help Wanted forums. But I have come to realize how much of a pain it is for me to read all these "i wan7 to maek an MMO!!!" posts. I just thought that we should make it so that people who have a certain number of posts over a certain amount of time or who have been on the forums for a while can post in the Help Wanted forum. It's truly annoying seeing all these posts and then getting people angry when you try to tell them soundly that their dream won't come true as easily as they want it to come. Just a thought. C&C welcome...

It must be equally annoying being told by some anonymous know-it-all that you dreams won't come true...

Leave them be. It's not your responsibility to "disabuse them" of their "misconceptions."

Even so, he has a good point - 'Uber FPSMMORPG' threads have been around since the dawn of time (relatively speaking). There are probably more now, but that is mostly because the membership is much higher now. And honestly, all you do by replying to those threads to disabuse them, is to bump the thread so another 1,000 of us have to see it.

You say they have been around since the dawn of time, then why don't we do something about them? I haven't been here that long but I have seen so many of these "n00b projeks" already it's untrue. All mntlinstituteflr is trying to say is can we have some kind of system which allows us to narrow down this flow of constant worthless threads, like only allowing members with a certain amount of posts or days under their belt.

I think we have all had quite enough of these dead end one monthers, right?

Only adding my feedback, Cheers.

Then don't read help wanted, or don't read the obvious MMO threads specifically. Problem solved. I see no reason to place such arbitrary restrictions on one of our central services.

The Help Wanted forum has issues -- the fact that it is a forum primarily, and not some seperate kind of classified ads systems. But requiring users to pass some sort of community vetting process is not the solution.

How about some kind of obstacle course?

Ha sorry couldn’t resist, yer you’re probably right, it’s just annoying really some of them aren't labelled "WARNING MMORPG"

Cheers.

Not every post in Help Wanted from a new account is a newbie MMORPG project. We have had people from existing, live, ambitious but doable projects come and solicit help on their first day. Some of these people have stayed and been productive members of the community, which probably wouldn't have happened if we did that kind of filtering.
