This should be very simple for a java disciple, but it is causing me massive problems... In my beloved C/C++, I could do the following: int x = 65; char ch = char(x); so now ch would equal 65 or ''A''. of course this isn''t necessary in C, but java starts crying about this. so, how do I do this in java? Thanks, Briar LoDeran

Have you tried:

int x = 65;
char ch = (char)x;
