d3d10 DrawIndexed

The second parameter of DrawIndexed StartIndexLocation [in] Index of the first index. and the third parameter of IASetIndexBuffer Offset [in] Offset (in bytes) from the start of the index buffer to the first index to use. seem redundant. Can someone give an example of why you would need both?

If you follow the doc links from D3D9's DrawIndexedPrimitive() call then you might get some insight. There's a good doc page explaining the parameters. My interpretation is that it's much the same as the D3D9 "input assembler" just that the parameters have moved around.
