I was looking for a program which can send my mesh to directx with more details such as light and opacity, those guys in the other forum told me that FX composer is the right choice. Now I’m looking for some sort of online tutorial to guide me through. I googled it but couldn’t find fine results, using other search engines and failed. Thanks everyone

hi,

1. first, take a look at the developer-site and the user handbook:

http://developer.nvidia.com/object/fx_composer_home.html

2. then, ask google for "rocket commander" or "rocket commander tutorial". in chapter 6 and 7 the authors explains shader programming in detail. you can also download a video where he implements a simple shader step-by-step.

3. you should have fx composer 2 installed. take a closer look at the shader-examples. begin with "lambert" and "phong", for they are the simplest kind of shaders!

cya,
nick
