Maya and XNA problem

Hi there! I'm having a problem when exporting a .fbx model in Maya. A friend of mine who is a 3D modeler created an Earth-like sphere using Maya and exported it to a .fbx file. When I load this file using XNA, a duplicate of this sphere appears, attached to the original one, as if the file was corrupted or something. Problem is, I've tried several times saving again and reloading this file, to no use. Other exported .fbx models my friend has created are loaded perfectly fine by my code, so I don't understand what the problem is. Does someone have any idea? Thanks in advance, Carol
