Torque Game Engine
I'm thinking of using Torque Game Engine under the indie license when I finally get my game design made and I'm ready to start the dirty work. Has anyone here used it before or know how accessible it is? I have virtually no coding knowledge or experience and I'm hoping to cut my needs there to a minimum by using a bought game engine of good quality. The main reason I am planing on this one is that the license is only $150 and $100 if I go 2D instead of 3D.
Anyone ever try it?
I bought the 3D engine about 6 months ago. Everything has been wonderful for me. I just tinker with it now since I have started learning C++ and haven't applied myself to the 3D side of things. The 2D engine is what I'm using to create my game.
I picked up a C++ for Dummies book by Jeff Cogswell. I have picked it up really fast. I heard there was an author that wrote a dummies book and a couple others to avoid but I cant remember his name.
I would recommend just getting the 2D engine a good C++ book and learn as you go. Tinker with this and that. If I screw something up I actually learn a ton trying to fix it =/

I use TGB whenever I get a chance to play around and it's a really powerful engine. You can seriously do whatever the hell you want with it - I've started working on an app to build stunt kite ballet routines, for example. Doesn't even have to be a game. I have a TGE license too. Haven't played around with it much but it's always fun. I'd recommend it, though you should always do lots of research to make sure you're choosing the right engine for your game, there are tons of options out there.
