GLUT is able to detect when the mouse leaves or enters the window region. A callback function can be registered to handle these two events. The GLUT function to register this callback is glutEntryFunc. The state callback parameter is either GLUT_LEFT or GLUT_ENTERED. I this does not work on your system can you use the normal glut mouse functions to track the mouse.

To move the pointer use glutWarpPointer it warps the window system''s pointer to a new location relative to the origin of the current window.
