There seem to be 3 options for a browser-based game to add sound: 1. IE only javascript using BGSOUND tag. 2. Flash 3. Java Is there any way to add cross-browser sound support without the use of Flash or Java? Or, is there a simple way to harness Flash for sound effects? There is a library out there that is about 1 Meg, and does everything for playing MP3s. I just want a few sound effects. Any ideas?

I think you can just embed a WAV file or whatever, then access it via javascript. Just use document.getElementById("sound").play(), or something similar.
