well, first hi, second, here's my question : I'd like to parse a XAF file to animate a static model. first : is it possible to do ( thought I think it's more yes than no) second : do any one knows the file structure of an XAF file it look like this : <MaxAnimation version="1.00" date="Mon Sep 24 16:05:11 2007"><SceneInfo fileName="BC18rigé(fast).max" startTick="0" endTick="16000" frameRate="30" ticksPerFrame="160" /><CustomData /><Node name="Bone07" parentNode="Bone06" parentNodeIndex="0" distanceToParent="32.550486" numChildren="1"> (sure this is the header... I understand this part). then there's <Samples count="101"><S t="0" v="0.292344 0.833951 -0.468039 0.956294 -0.251815 0.148632 0.006093 -0.491034 -0.871119 23.815372 -9.968086 199.288956" /> well sample count, is the ... sample count.. sure, S determine the Sample structure, t is probably the time, or tick, and my guess is that v is the vertex.. but the thing is that for the bone07 in the obj file I have : g # object Bone07 to come ... # v 49.614971 10.626442 177.611267 v 50.465450 14.464264 186.806244 v 50.301983 23.696825 182.967865 v 49.451504 19.859001 173.772873 v 84.171585 15.902611 177.106781 v 84.256638 16.286392 178.026291 v 84.240288 17.209650 177.642441 v 84.155243 16.825867 176.722946 v 44.977264 17.249702 180.713531 # 9 vertices vn 0.145516 -0.917732 0.369586 vn 0.213636 0.378250 0.900714 vn 0.427272 0.756499 1.801429 vn 0.226199 1.826320 -0.783195 vn 0.996243 -0.017614 -0.084794 vn 1.992485 -0.035228 -0.169589 vn 0.996243 -0.017614 -0.084794 vn 1.992485 -0.035228 -0.169589 vn -0.692891 -0.640386 0.331374 # 9 vertex normals g Bone07 s 1 f 507//507 506//506 505//505 504//504 s 2 f 505//505 506//506 502//502 501//501 s 4 f 504//504 505//505 501//501 500//500 s 8 f 503//503 502//502 506//506 507//507 s 16 f 500//500 503//503 507//507 504//504 s 32 f 508//508 500//500 501//501 s 64 f 508//508 501//501 502//502 s 128 f 508//508 502//502 503//503 s 256 f 508//508 503//503 500//500 # 9 faces so this can't be the position of the vertex, since I have 9*3 vertex in the obj and only 12 in the XAF... well maybe my question isn't clear, but I'm really confuse with what I'm trying to do ( but I want to do it... don't ask me why I don't know). so to sum up.. my question is what's the definition of an XAF file? thx for your time and awnsers.

well, so I'll go with another question... that maybe more people will have a clue about... does anyone know how to import a model from 3dSMax and animate it with skeletal animation??
