I've just started learning C# and was wondering of anyone out there could recommend any books. I have some experience with C++ if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Here's my favorite book thus far.

http://www.amazon.com/CLR-via-Second-Pro-Developer/dp/0735621632/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-4734834-3655234?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1191539097&sr=8-1

It doesn't focus on c# but explains in very clear terms what the CLR actually does through c# syntax. Once those fundamentals are established, experimenting with c# or using other higher level books should be more meaningful.

I'd expand, but the Amazon comments frame it well enough.

I have Inside C#: 2nd Edition from Microsoft Press and I'm very impressed with it. The text is very clear and easy to digest and comes with plenty of samples. It also describes exactly what's happening behind the scenes in disassembled IL code. I have yet to find a book that gives such a clear picture of the language.
