Hi, i'm reading about terrain rendering in a DX book, anyways. The problem: *) Lock the index buffer *) Fill the index buffer *) Read the entire buffer and save it to a textfile. --- The two buffers are equal *) Unlock the index buffer. *) Lock the index buffer *) Read the entire buffer and save it to a textfile. *) Unlock the index buffer --- The two buffers are completely different. Any ideas? [Edited by - marius1930 on October 2, 2007 3:21:19 PM]

Unless you're trying to debug a release build, show a complete example code demonstrating the error. Debugging a release build is not easy as there isn't a one to one mapping between source code and machine code anymore as in a debug build, so what you're inspecting could be uninitialized variable as initialization could be delayed to some other place than what the debugger thinks.

If the program is behaving as exepcted, despite the errors while debugging, then that's probably the case.
