Stencil Buffer and Window Resize

I made a simple program to try out stencil operations. After resizing the window, the screen goes blank. No rendering. The code for the WM_SIZE block is copied from another program, and resizing that application's window exhibits normal behavior. So I placed the StencilBufferSetup code inside the WM_SIZE block, and everything is fine now. I never knew resizing a window could invalidate a buffer. Can anyone explain why this is?

Because your buffers are set to match the size of the window, changing the size of that window will mean they don't match up anymore.
