I'm wondering what language would be better for an adventure\RPG game Python or Java. The game would be fairly simple and if I were to use python I would import pygame and just write it in the python IDLE, and if I were to use Java I would use the NetBeans IDE. -Mike B.

Yah I've been wondering the same myself I also am trying to make an adventure/RPG. I know both python and java are great for RPG's because they're object oriented I just wish there was more resources/tutorials outthere for making RPG's (there outthere I probably just can't find)

Python!

For an indie developer, your most precious resource is your time. So you want a language that has the highest ease of development. Java is verbose, strict, and not very expressive. Python is eloquent, permissive and expressive. Java has its own strengths, but in this situation I think Python is a way better choice.

Well said. I'm in full agreement.

Another vote for python.
