Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows any decent 3d strategy engines that I could freely use or just use as a reference. Thanks Edit: I am looking for something that uses openGL to render.

FreeCV is kinda cool actually, but
ORTS looks more like something I was looking for.
What do u mean by research oriented?

I think Glest was a good suggestion. I was impressed with how well things work in it.
I also like globulaton 2, which is 2d.

Glest is really cool, I installed and played around with it
They all seem kinda big, I think it's better to
just start my own, so I could learn things
