There are a number of books you''ll be interested in looking at. As Sly says check Amazon. I tend to buy most of my books from various sources, such as B&N, Borders, Fatbrain.com (owned by B&N IIRC).

Some good titles to look at are:

* Delphi Graphics and Game Programming Exposed with DirectX - John Ayres

* Beginning Direct3D Game Programming - Engel & Geva

* Game Architecture and Design - Rollings & Morris

A lot of the DirectX books you''ll run into have a lot of C/C++ code. Using the DirectX wrappers from Project JEDI (links are elsewhere on this site) allows you to use DirectX from inside Delphi. There are plenty of other titles, but those should be a good start. Plenty of meat and veg in those books to keep you busy for a couple of weeks

Hi,

I recently purchased "Tricks of the windows game programming gurus", since I wanted to learn more about game programming and C++ game programming. The AI section and physics part was good, and you can use this one in all games.

And in real life, it seems to be more useful to know c++ because it seems to be more mainstream :-(

Anyway, I also bought "Delphi 5 developers guide" where you get I think it is 800 pages packed incl 16 chapters (another 500 pages) on a cd so if you have access to a cheap printer...:-)

I like to read something that I can hold in my hands, and sometimes printouts gets a bit boring.... So if you want to get a book, I think I can recommend "Delphi 5 Dev. Guide" the advantage being what you learn is also applicable other places. Especially if you want to learn Delphi as a dev tool, that is. There is alot of valuable stuff in here which you can, and should, use for your games. Who says that you cannot use databases in games??? (do I hear the word : investment?)

The "Tricks.." book is also quite good, but mostly for C++ and DirectX..if you don''t own a book for game programming and language doesn''t matter - get this one....(bear in mind that it is for beginners-(intermediate))....

But I cannot stress enough the stuff on the net (ex turbo, gamedev and others...), which is of equal importance or maybe more so than any of the books that I have skimmed through. But it''s just nice to have it all organised in one package :-)

Hope it helps somehow?????
