Volume Rendering - View Aligned Polygon slices

I'm following the direct volume rendering (slice based) approach. I have a set of polygon slices arranged in back to front order. I want to make the polygon slices view aligned (the polygons should be drawn perpendicular to the viewing direction). I've tried using Point rotated billboards for orienting the polygon slices. But that doesn't gave me exact results. I want my polygon slices to be rotated smoothly when the view direction changes. Any suggestions please

I just transform the box to view space. Then find the minZ and maxZ range. Then I compute the slice polygons from maxZ to minZ incrementing by a small dz each step. I rebuild my slice polygons in software.
