Hello everybody! First of all, I'm using Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002. Turns out that this Windows XP's windows are not totally rectangular in the upper-left and upper-right corners. So, in full screen mode, the window has 2 "holes" in those positions which will make the Direct3D window lose its focus when clicked in those coords... I tested the same applications in both Classic style and XP style (I'm using XP OS), and Classic works just fine, but XP behaves as described above!!! Another test I made was with just any maximized window (you know the browser's, notepad's, etc) and when clicked on those coords, at the upper-left the current window loses its focus and in upper-right, closes the window??? I don't know if this happens in any other XP versions but it is definitely killing my humble little "game". Any solutions??? Thanks!

If you're running full screen then you probably don't want any non-client area1 at all. When you create your window using CreateWindowEx, don't define any styles that specify non-client elements. This applies to the WNDCLASSEX structure as well.

Skizz

1) The non-client area is the title bar and border of the window.
