Alpha test and Z-Write

Hello folks If a graphics API would offer you such a possibility, could you think of a situation where, with both alpha testing and Z-Write enabled, you'd want a fragment's depth written to the depth buffer even though that fragment has been (or will be; see below) rejected by the alpha test. In other words, operation would take place in the following order: Depth test -> Depth wirte -> Alpha test -> Color Write. Cheers JA
