hi, i'm trying to position a positional (point) light source inside a solid, moving sphere to make it seem as if the sphere is emitting light (i can't just use the emissive light property since this won't illuminate the rest of the scene), but i can't make the light from the light source escape the sphere. any help would be great. thanks

OpenGL doesn't have built in shadowing for it's lighting solution (you have to specifically implement your own shadowing logic). So, whether or not the light is inside some object shouldn't make a difference.

If you move the light outside of the object does the scene light correctly?
Do you have a shadowing algorithm running?
If so, disable shadow casting by that object.
