Need some help with building a skeletal Bone system from a random D3DXFRAME Hierarchy

Hay all, Well I'm trying to work out how to build a bone system from a .Xfile, but the D3DXFRAME's Hierarchy that are in this .Xfile look like there not in any order. The question is Do I need to know in advance the name of all the frames and build the bone structure or is there a way I can just load any mesh and use its frames and set up a bone system with that.(the later would be the better) Thanks all....
