Hi All, this is my first post here. I am an absolute beginner with DirectX. I am trying to develop a simple 3D viewer; my goal is to load models from .x files exported from 3D studio and display them. I was able to do gain a good understanding about how to display the model, textures and materials, but now I am facing the animation issue(I don't need to use any skinning feature): I understand I need to use the D3DXLoadMeshHierarchyFromX function instead of the Simple Loading method I am using now (D3DXLoadMeshFromX), in order to preserve the hierarchy and display the animation. I understand as well I need at least to declare and Implement a ID3DXAllocateHierarchy derived class to achieve this. Problem is I have no idea how to do this. I've been browsing through the DirectX documentation but it just gives me the methods definitions. Can anyone point me to some good article or tutorial about this? All I was able to find is way too cryptic for my current understanding of DirectX: http://www.toymaker.info/Games/html/load_x_hierarchy.html http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article2079.asp Thanks in advance to everyone for helping! JI
