Hi i was reading the ContentStreaming sample found within the DX SDK 2007 this sample allows to apply virtual memory concepts to expand the Video RAM taking into consideration the main memory (and System virtual Memory if chosen). my question is what are benefits returned when using a Memory Mapped IO functionality (over the old fashioned style!!! as the programmer of the sample called within the code (in which the program will allocate a system mem buffer to temporarily load the resources into before moving it to the Video RAM))??!! Note: My question subject isn't related to DirectX I dono if I should put the question into the General Programming Forum!
