terrain creation

I haven't heard of any terrain editing programs, so my suggestion is that you write one yourself. If you keep things simple it shouldn't be too hard.

I´ve written a landscape-engine, too. And I´ve my own editor that can do mountains, sea etc ...

can anyone recommend a good terrain editing app?

i also need some file format specs so i can load the file into my engine...any help?

Yea, it's in D3D. It doesnt have a homepage yet, though.

I'm trying to develop a 3D rts. I have alot of design down, and am trying to learn D3D.

Vertex buffers in D3D have totally kicked my ass. The example app is completely Greek to me. Does anyone know of any resources where I can learn to use them?
