sample projects for c++

im entering a programming competition representing my school.
Its only basic c++ (no directx or windows), and i need some project samples so i can see what might be included in the competition. I mostly need them so i can teach my friend some programming logic and to synchronize our teamwork skills by working our way through different requirements and to implement different methods.
so if u guys know any sites please tell me.

i haven't read all of them,
but does anyone know where i can get game challenges like those found in the c++ workshop. If not could you guys suggest something.
