SDL_Surface stack to top and right of the screen !!!

Hi I want to move a SDL_Surface. but i cant set the x and y of the SDL_Surface with nagative value ! I didnt have any restrict for it. it can goes out of screen from the bottom and right of the screen but cant from top and left ! Its strange ! I use this code in the main loop and xPosition of my sprite set correctly offset.x = -10; SDL_BlitSurface( mySprite, NULL, screen, &offset ); But with this code it goes left until the left edge of the screen and stock !!! offset.x -= 1; SDL_BlitSurface( mySprite, NULL, screen, &offset ); Plz help !
