Hello again to all. After searching and reading around in various forums I've decided perhaps Flash isn't the best start for the terribly low budget and terribly new game developer. I'm now going to try Python/Pygame to start. I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a Python game programmers list that I could go and lurk at? I learn a lot that way. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Just in case anyone else was wondering the answer to my questions too. python.org and pygame.org both have mailing lists that seem to be pretty active.

Maybe try the blender game engine? I know it uses python, and its probably pretty good since blender has some amazing stuff in it. If interested maybe try blenderartists.org

Thanks very much for the suggestion! I've bookmarked the site but it'll probably be a while before I need it. Right now I'm just learning Python and I'm a baby programmer in general. I think I'm going to spend the next month or ranting and swearing my way through programming a text-based adventure so I can get nice and comfy with the language. Then I'll be ready to tackle a "real" game.
