I've been using NeHe's OpenGL window code to work with and I've heard it's not good. Is there a better way to make a window which is more organized than in the NeHe tutorials? Could you show me how you guys do it? Just the code to create a nice clean window to work with. Thanks.

If you use one of those libs, you will still be able to make pure OpenGL calls. All of the window management stuff ( creating/registering/displaying windows ) is taken care of usally by a handful of API calls. I've seen plently of examples where the plain Win32 calls are used ( which is most likely what you are trying to avoid -- what NeHe uses ).

So you only have to use a few lines of code rather than mess with a huge page of window code? That would be nice. It's confusing messing with the window code which is mixed with all the rest of the code. Hard to manage.

Yep. Most of that stuff , even if you choose to go the NeHe route can be incorporated in such a way that you can forget about it. Although I'd reccommend one of those other libs if you just want to jump in a focus on learning OGL/3D stuphs.

I'm wanting to make programs and games, but right now I'm focusing on the game part. I got into C++ thinking I was going to learn one language and learn it all, but I found out I had to learn OpenGL for graphics and windows GUI for programs, and found that there's so much to learn I gotta focus on one thing at a time. My main goal is to create a game, so... I started there. I was doing alright on the NeHe tutorials [kind of] thinking I was going to learn something when I tried to break my program into sections with includes. Then I found out NeHe is broke and I'm lost. : 0

lol Gee I hope understanding all this gets easier over time.
