Exporting from 3d studio to an X file
Hi guys,
I have been having recent trouble with exporting .max files from 3d studio max to .x format.
The problem is that the conversion seems to go ahead ok, but when I load the .x file in DirectX it doesn't show up with the texture properly.
I am using Panda Exporter, 3D Studio Max 2008 trial version, with the latest Direct X drivers and SDK.
I have a light shining down on the model, but the texture does not show up properly. It appears to have loaded as you can see the outline when the light rolls over the model - but there is no colour!

If you have any idea what I can do to fix it I would be grateful.

Might be nice if we had 2 screens to look at:
a) a render (correct) from 3dsmax
b) a render (incorrect) from dx
Also, have you tried making a simple model from scratch in 3dsmax, texturing it (simply) and then seeing if that works?
(just in case it's something to do with your model or current texturing, etc.)
