Where can I find information about digital image processing ? I need explanations on these topics : - Backward method (backward interpolation) - Nearest pixel operations - Linear interpolation - Cubic interpolation thx alot.

in order to apply a differential equation to a series, you must be able to approximate derivatives of the series. this is generally done by using either a forward difference, central difference, or rearward difference; the latter of which is what is meant by your "backward method". more information can be found on mathworld

"nearest pixel operations" probably refers to "nearest neighbor interpolation"
