Hello, I was hoping someone here could assist me with a problem I've got with SDL's CD-Rom playback. The fact for me is that it's not working. I'm testing the code from the SDL documentation and it works properly.. On Windows that is, but on linux I'm unable to hear anything and SDL_PlayCDRomTracks happily returns 0. I'm running Gentoo Linux with the 2.6.22-gentoo-r9 kernel ALSA build in, SDL is able to play just normal sounds and I am able to play the cd-rom music using the media player audacious. I've tried numerous things, but it's still not working! Any ideas are welcome. Thank you very much in advance, Klesh

I'm experiencing this problem too, running on CentOS.

Using the media player I can play tracks fine, but using the SDL function mentioned above (SDL_PlayCDRomTracks) It just won't run.

I would be happy to hear from anyone that experienced this problem and found a fix for it.

Is the cd spinning but you hear nothing? If so, it could be that the analogue sound cable isn't connected up, but that's a long shot.
