Logic for free movement in 2D

Hi guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with the logic of free movement in 2D. Currently, I have the object rotate with the left and right arrows. The problem I am having is getting the object to move in the appropriate direction. Does anyone know the logic for doing this off the top of their head? I am using C# and XNA. Thanks, BrianD

Not sure about C# math functions, but in C++, given Angle as the degree of rotation in radians:


X+=sinf(Angle)*StepSize;
Y-=cosf(Angle)*StepSize;


to move StepSize distance in the direction Angle. This inverts the mathematical axis (Y goes up the screen) to fall into the more usual screen axis (Y goes down the screen).

I'm sure C# has readily accessible Sin and Cos methods (in a Math namespace?).
