modeling for xna enviroment...?

Hi all. I am sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum to ask this, but I am having to model content for the xna enviroment. If it helps I'm using Max. But can someone please briefly explain for me about importing obj into the xbox enviroment. Special tools for importing, program to do so, conversion process, is it possible to run the xna game engine from a computer, etc? As you can see I know nothing at this point, but am researching as you read this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
