Number/Prices and currency

I just been playing a round working with numbers. Price of some thing, Tax and sub total and last a total Can some one give me a sample of if.

.45/6.99 = .064, so probably a 6.4% tax on foods.

Total = 6.99 + .45.

I dont see what there is not to get.

It actually seems to be round to the nearest penny. For the Munchkins, $6.99 * 0.065 = $.45435, which rounds to $.45. In comparison, for a paper back book in my area that costs $7.99, $7.99 * 0.065 = $0.51935, which rounds to $.52.

Yes, where do +, - and * at.
Theres nothing here to tell me, what was added to what. Where did you * the tax at. and so on. I'm a beginner and new to this. I thing you should start from a simple view.
