I just got finished with act I of my game Ovid the Owl. It's programmed in C++, uses Blender for all the graphics, and I wrote all the music, too. It's a free download so try it and tell me what you think. If you downloaded the unfinished demo, this is a pretty big improvement. It uses DirectX 9, so it's only available on Windows. Download it here: http://lzr.cc/Ovid.htm.

i tried it and really loved the graphics and the music !

it was too slow paced for me to enjoy the game play though. the guy didn't walk fast enough, and couldn't jump while walking.

maybe some people who like slower paced games will enjoy it more though. I definitely loved the graphics and the music gave a great atmosphere, so I'm sure there's people out there who could enjoy that game !
Thanks about the graphics and the music. Try playing the game a bit further. Once you get past the bats, the game gets a lot better, in my opinion, because by then I had finished the engine and was just working on game-play.

i played a bit more and made it to the submarine. seemed like it was the end? Anyways, i still think the graphics and music are good, and that the hero is too too slow and should be able to walk and jump at the same time.

However, i found there's a good amount of variety in the things to do. Some nice puzzles. I like when there was steam pushing me upwards and that there were rocks in the way so that i had to play with flying/falling to get past them.

I'm not sure if it's me not remembering correctly, but i think at some points the collision boxes are bigger than they seem, which is really big since the sprites are already big.

What i think is the strongest point is the variety in gameplay. I liked the faster control of the plane and the hovering disk. However, i think there was no challenge with them, which is sad because it was fun mechanics.

The ball jumping puzzle was pretty cool too. Again, not hard, but it was cool.

Maybe the challenge is alright for act one if your going to re use the mechanics in harder settings later on. I definitely think it would be nice to move a bit faster. I also found it strange that while flying, i couldn't change direction without taking my finger off the control key.
I need to have some sort of warning saying that is not the end. It's a puzzle.

**Warning Spoiler!!!**
The tunnel says worry, and that means you should have the floating objects spell worry as in the first row pick the one that glows white, second row orange.

Anyways, I'm convinced that Act II will have a run option and a different jump. I don't think it's that bad, but it would make the game more accessible.

i tried and i cant interact with anything underwater :(
*spoilers*
Do you notice that when you run into those mysterious floating blobs they change color from a neutral grayish to another color? In every row, you can only pick one color. Make the first row white, second orange, third red, fourth red, fifth yellow. Then the tube should be open.
